Georges and the Leviathan

Opera staged with libretto and music by Antonio Fajardo Ruiz. Score for seven vocal soloists, choir and instrumental chamber ensemble in a series of choral, arias, duos and concertant scenes of a luminous musical language with a neo-classical character with touches of minimalism. Sant Jordi, books, the cave of the dragon, connection between the kingdoms of Montblanc and Shambhala, entheogens of a free and fool world at the same level.
Once upon a time, in the mythical kingdom of Montblanc, a town claims that Princess Cleodolinda does not listen to the call she’s received from the Cave of the Leviathan Dragoon. This, however, goes with delight, because she’s had a wonderful dream in which she is called to meet with a community of enlightened beings who live in an underground world that is accessed through the very feared cave of Leviathan. Knight Jordi, brave warrior, will be encouraged by the people to go to save the Princess and he will do so, although he will have to learn that his fear and need to protect her are unfounded…
Jordi and Leviatà is a Sant Jordi for the 21st century, an exorcism of the myth that governs the sociopolitical identity of any citizen of the middle class. The warrior Jordi, in his eagerness to protect Princess Cledolinda, will end up following her through the cave to the mythical kingdom of Shambhala where Queen Agarta and the Heart of Enlightened Souls will censure his spirit of domination over the will of the noble lady.
The cast closes with two actors playing the roles of the Father and the Son, who discuss about the Leviathan of Thomas Hobbes while visiting the Palace of the Generalitat on a nowadays April 23d.
